Please bring an extra blanket.
CONCERT ATTIRE
The attire for the final concert on Saturday is traditional black and white:
Women - white blouse or shirt and black pants or skirt with black dress shoes
Men - white dress shirt and tie, black dress pants and black dress shoes
2010 THEME NIGHT
Western Hoe Down - Yee Haw! So dig out those cowboy boots and hats for a kickin' good time!
Theme night attire is strictly optional - but the festivities will be enjoyed by all!
YOUR INSTRUMENT, MUSIC STAND and MUSIC
Campers are required to bring their own instrument and are responsible for its care. Percussion instruments will be provided, however percussionists should bring their own sticks, mallets and practice pad. Campers must also bring a portable, folding music stand with each piece marked with their name. Tape or colored nail polish works well.
All instrumentalists (except percussionists) need to bring a piece of music that they will perform for a short seating audition. Bring a piece that you are comfortable playing. Vocalists need to bring 1 piece of music that they have already performed (in a concert, lesson, or NYSSMA solo, etc.) and are comfortable with and another piece that is a work in progress. Try and make these 2 pieces from different styles (i.e. one classical, one Broadway). Also bring the piano part for the accompanist. If you think you may wish to perform on a recital, bring the music and accompanist part.
In the event an instrument needs a minor repair, our BHMC staff is usually able to help. If it is something more involved, we are luck to have a local music store in Canandaigua that services our instruments. The cost of the repair is the responsiblitiy of the camper/parent.
