BHMC MUSIC PROGRAM

BHMC accepts band, orchestra, and vocal majors. Each major group rehearses three hours each day, including sight reading. The groups are divided by age and/or ability as determined by staff recommendations. Junior High is grades 7-9, Senior High is grades 10-12.

Our program includes the following:

String Ensemble -  All Junior High String Majors

Chamber Ensemble - All Senior High String Majors

Symphony Orchestra - All String Majors and wind and percussion players selected by audition

Senior Concert Band - All Senior High Band Majors

Junior Concert Band - All Junior High Band Majors

Senior and Junior Jazz Ensembles

Senior Chorus - All Senior High campers* (10-12 graders)

Junior Chorus - All Junior High campers* (7-9 graders)

*All campers are required to participate in their respective camp chorus.  These choruses rehearse daily and perform in the final concert.

Vocal Ensemble and Techniques - A daily rehearsal and class for all Vocal Majors

Music and Theater Appreciation Classes - Campers choose from a selection of fun, interactive daily classes.

Small Ensembles - Optional groups formed upon arrival; they perform at evening recitals.

Evening Recitals - solo and ensemble performances presented for the entire camp each evening.  Campers are encouraged to perform.

Private Music Lessons - Offered by our talented staff for all instruments, voice and guitar; cost is an additional $20/half hour.  Lessons are optional.

Final Concert - All major groups perform in a formal concert on Saturday at 1 PM.  This is free and open to all.
